When a heater is brought up to operating temperature, it expands in length, causing it to fit looser about the nozzle and significantly reducing thermal transfer. Nexthermal’s Constrictor keeps coil heaters pressed tightly about the nozzle for maximum heat transfer and accurate thermocouple reading. Made of a special metal alloy with a lower thermal expansion rate than the heaters’ stainless steel, it prevents coil heaters from loosening on the nozzle for optimum material flow and superior end product.
Nexthermal's profiled heaters are engineered to apply heat at specific temperature levels across the length of a nozzle – hotter at the tip and ends, and slightly cooler in the middle. When a coil heater loosens about the nozzle, an insulative layer of air is introduced, significantly reducing effectiveness due to the thermocouple no longer being in direct contact with the nozzle. To prevent this, a Constrictor retainer is placed over the heater, keeping every part of the heater in direct contact with the nozzle as it rises in temperature and ensuring heat is continuously and accurately registered.
