SMALL CHANGES NET BIG RESULTS WITH THE RIGHT HOT RUNNER HEATER.

Posted by: Nexthermal Admin on 10 April 2018 11:40
In hot runner systems, controlling how much heat is applied – and where it's applied on the nozzle – can be the difference between manufacturing perfect parts, or generating expensive scrap. Understanding the full specifications of the plastics you are running is the first step. The plastics industry is continually developing new plastics for use in consumer products and packaging, including those that are biodegradable. Many of these new plastics require a tighter thermal range for optimum results that your current heater just can’t handle. Getting the proper temperature on the nozzle is key. The best way to ensure this is by understanding the heater’s capabilities. Though coil heaters are the heater of choice for this application, not all coil heaters are up to the task. If it’s not specifically profiled for your application, the quality of your parts and how many you can produce could suffer. Because different plastics have different thermal requireme... [More]
